Events are good for scheduling one-off occasions like someone coming to visit your site, a celebration, or perhaps a company strategy retreat. 

Repeating events where you're keeping meeting minutes or collecting other records will usually be better in the 'Registers' module where you can schedule it once with a set repeat frequency, and collect the associated records in one place. 

Events appear on the Calendar (along with all other due dates), and you can search a listing of events. 

Each event has a 'Contact person' who can edit the information, and multiple 'Attendees' who all see the event on their work list. 

There's everything you need to organise the event, like tasks and files.
